Salt and Light Prism

Matthew 5:13-16
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Inspirations:

I believe that art and creative expression, is one of the many gifts given to us from our Heavenly Creator, God.

As a creative soul, I feel truly blessed and honoured to be able to express myself, through Art and my other creative pursuits which include; Dancing, Singing, DIY projects, Gardening and Cooking.

Salt and Light Prism is about bold, bright expressions of colour, revelling in the Colour Prism and celebrating the many beautiful colours in nature with which are blessed.  My artwork is all about Colour, explored through abstract and semi abstract art; In a form of mixed media paintings and photography. I take influence from nature and landscapes; special life scene moments and I take inspiration from the positives in our world.

Purpose :

God is Colour, God is Light, God is Creator and He gave us the Colour Prism!

The purpose of Salt & Light Prism is to bring light, joy, relief and escapism from the dullness and the darkness, that sometimes life presents to us all. I want my artwork to uplift and to bring positivity and evoke an instant “feel-good factor” when someone see’s it.

Background:

I was born in Kampala, Uganda, I then moved to London at the age of 9 years old in 1993. I spent my teens in London, my main hubs were, Harlesden, Maida Vale, Kilburn, Ladbroke Grove, Kensington, Queens Park, Charlton, Bayswater and Camberwell. In 2003, at the age of 20 years old, I moved out of home and went to Plymouth, Devon to study for my Art and Drama degree. In 2015, I relocated to my current home now, which is based in beautiful Hertfordshire.

This exposure and immersion into the rich and vibrant cultures and the subcultures of Uganda and that of the UK; along with my Christian faith, subsequently it all had a great influence on my life and consequently my Artwork!

Aspirations, Hopes and Dreams:

It is widely accepted that creative expression is subjective, but I need to add a caveat to the agreement, in that it is also spiritual! Therefore, we have to be mindful about what we invite into our environments and psyches, we must scratch beneath the surface and stay vigilant.

I hope my Artwork gives its audience true bliss, great inspiration and endless cheer.
